Airtown Berlin

AirTown at BBI Schönefeld International Airport

In partnership with Max Bögl we are developing the “AirTown” - a site of over 100,000m² - at the future BBI international airport. With its excellent location directly on the airport motorway junction and only some 1,200m away from the future airport’s terminal buildings, AirTown is destined to be “the Gateway to the Airport”. The site is earmarked for the future development of some 240,000m² of floor space for hotels and offices.

A syndicate of five leading architects offices (Hilmer & Sattler und Albrecht as main coordinators, gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner, Kleihues + Kleihues, Manfred Pechtold, and Schultes Frank) is working together with the aim of creating a “European town” where unity of form is matched by diversity of architectural style.
The land development plan has received official approval.
Consultation on the master plan with the municipality of Schönefeld is now underway.
